A Middle Office Administrator/ Backup Trader
The LOM Group of companies is seeking a Middle Office Administrator/ Backup Trader to work in our international financial services firm. Our corporate headquarters are located in Bermuda and we currently have subsidiaries in the Bahamas and London.
We are seeking an individual in Bermuda to work in the "middle office", bridging the trade desk and the settlements departments. This individual will also be trained to act as the firm trader at times when the senior trader is out of the office.
Primary responsibilities will include:
• Daily confirmation and reconciliation of all equity, foreign exchange, derivatives and commodities trades
• Setup and maintenance of relevant systems standing data
• Trade desk administrative functions including position accuracy across markets, record keeping
• Liaise with counterparties in solving outstanding trades and discrepancies
• Work with back office to ensure timely postings and settlement of trades.
• Support trading function as needed, including serving as the firm's backup trader
• Support settlements/operations as needed, including providing cover
Qualifications:
• 2-4 years experience in back office of a busy financial services firm
• Thorough knowledge of a spectrum of financial instruments and settlement procedures
• Familiarity with data vendor platforms (BBG specifically) and SWIFT is a plus
• Ability to meet tight daily deadlines and willing to work flexible hours
• Must be a team player, and be able to work under pressure as a multi-tasker
• Bachelor's degree in business, economics or related field is preferred
• Willing and able to obtain relevant Canadian or US qualification (e.g. CSC, Series 7)
We fully expect to hire a Bermudian (or spouse of) who can start working before the end of July.
