Junior Portfolio Manager
The LOM Group Requires:
A Junior Portfolio Manager
The LOM Group of companies and LOM Asset Management Limited are seeking a Junior Portfolio Manager to assist with expansion in our international financial services firm.
The primary role of this exciting new position will be to work closely with our General Manager in Bermuda to execute investment mandates (both fixed income and equity) for high net worth individuals, trust accounts and small to midsize corporations.
Within the fixed income area you will eventually manage small to medium size accounts (most major currencies), develop and define new and existing client relationships, perform portfolio accounting and take on administrative tasks and duties as may be assigned. You'll be responsible for ensuring that all fixed income portfolios are managed in line with their investment objectives by working with a Senior Portfolio Manager to ensure that portfolios are constructed to match benchmark, risk, and out-performance targets. Day-to-day, you’ll monitor portfolio cash flows, and use multiple systems to produce risk reports and handle a variety of administrative issues. You’ll also maintain model portfolios for performance monitoring purposes, and undertake occasional ad hoc project work.
The equity work will include managing day-to-day investment processes under the guidance of a Senior Portfolio Manager. You will help with ongoing strategy implementation in areas such as data validation, data analysis, performance analysis and attribution, trade execution analysis, and market dynamics. Your main focus will be to continually enhance the investment process and its results, which might involve assisting in portfolio construction or rebalancing strategies and signing off on reported return forecasting and methods for risk and control cost performance. During your time here, you’ll develop a keen understanding of our quantitative investment process.
We are seeking candidates with a college degree in finance or economics related fields with a clear commitment to obtaining a CFA and becoming a long term team member. An MBA would be desirable. Experience in the European and/or Asia-Pacific markets would be a plus. You must have strong analytical, computer and writing skills in the area of finance.
Please note that married candidates may not find the move to Bermuda advantageous unless both partners have marketable careers due to Immigration restrictions.
The compensation for this new role will depend on experience but it is expected to be tax free between USD $70k and $90k.
